I am thrilled to share some fantastic news with you all! AUSactive has named me a finalist for Educator of the Year.

This recognition is incredibly gratifying, but wait, there’s more!
A Year of Achievements
The Women’s Fitness Education, which has been running for less than a year, is also
a finalist in its category. This achievement is incredibly significant because it underscores the importance and impact of our mission to bridge the gap in women’s health education in the fitness industry. It reflects our commitment to creating a more inclusive and informed training environment for women everywhere.

As Head of Education, this nomination is not just a win for our team but also a recognition of the vital work being done to address women’s unique health concerns regarding fitness. It’s a validation that our efforts are making a tangible difference and that the industry is taking note of the importance of specialised education tailored towards women’s health issues.
Recognising Dedicated Team Members
Alongside this, our fabulous Student Success Manager, Dani Mondo, has been named a finalist for both PT of the Year and Educator of the Year. Dani’s dedication and commitment to excellence are evident in everything she does, from her fabulous reels on the WFE Instagram to her inspiring mentorship of our students.

Dani’s dual nominations highlight her exceptional contributions to the industry and the high standards we strive to uphold at Women’s Fitness Education.

Moreover, one of our stellar students, Clara Whitby, has also made it to the list of finalists. Clara’s passion, hard work, and relentless pursuit of excellence have not gone unnoticed. Her success is a testament to her commitment to fitness and health and also underscores the quality of education and mentorship she has received.
Overcoming Personal Struggles
This recognition is not merely an accolade but a testament to the shifting paradigms in fitness education, especially concerning women’s health. Over the years, I have been advocating tirelessly for more inclusive and comprehensive training that addresses women’s unique health concerns, particularly pelvic health.
My personal journey, which began at 34 when I transitioned from a primary school teacher to a personal trainer following a traumatic personal experience, has continuously driven this mission. The struggles I faced with pelvic health issues, such as urinary leakage during workouts and the lack of education in the fitness industry around these concerns, highlighted the urgent need for change.
In recognition of my advocacy for women’s health in the fitness industry, I was honoured to receive the Educator of the Year award in New Zealand in 2023 and the Fuel Woman of the Year award in 2024. These accolades have motivated me to continue pushing forward and advocating for better education and support for women in fitness.
Advocacy and Education
Determined to understand my body better, I set out on an extensive learning journey about the pelvic floor. This knowledge helped me develop practical techniques and approaches I have since developed into education for fitness professionals and help educate women via my signature course, EVEolution™. This initiative is now at the core of what we teach at Women’s Fitness Education, ensuring that our trainers do not train women like small men. The education at Women’s Fitness Education starts at Certificate 3 + 4 and then includes:
- Pelvic health: how to manage and mitigate symptoms, and how to support their clients who may be facing similar issues
- Pre + postnatal education
- Menstrual Cycle Understanding, and
- Peri and menopausal women
We are committed to breaking the silence and stigma around these topics and equipping our students with the knowledge and confidence they need to address them head-on.
Shifting Paradigms in Fitness Education
The recognition from AUSactive feels like a significant milestone, not just for me but for all women who have faced similar struggles and the incredible Women’s Fitness Education team who share this vision. This year truly feels like a year of significant shifts and progress. We are witnessing a growing awareness and acceptance of the need for specialised women’s health education in fitness, and this nomination is a clear indicator of that change.
Our educational program is designed to fill the gaps that many traditional fitness training courses overlook. By incorporating comprehensive modules on women’s health, we pave the way for a more informed, educated, and empathetic approach to fitness training. This approach benefits the trainers and significantly improves the quality of training and support clients receive.
Looking Ahead
This recognition is a stepping stone, motivating us to continue our work with even greater enthusiasm and dedication. We aim to expand our educational offerings, reach more students, and continue advocating for women’s health and fitness. Every milestone we achieve is a testament to our team and students’ hard work, resilience, and passion.
Thank you all for your ongoing support. Let’s continue to advocate for a more inclusive and informed fitness world.
